We have been using Riverview for many years. During this time the doctors, technicians and staff have always been professional and easy to work with and communication is always outstanding. We're made to feel as though our pets are the most important patients in the office. Over the years we've seen all of the doctors in the practice and without exception they are very knowledgeable and up to date on the latest developments in veterinary medicine. The recent change to text check-in and their app have made an already exceptional facility even better. We've had a dog with heart issues, an ancient dog with digestive problems, dogs with allergies and the usual run-of-the-mill things. We also take our snakes and bearded dragon for their medical needs. In every case we felt our pets got the best possible care. When it's been time to say goodbye to a beloved family member, that process has been handled with sympathy and kindness. We recommend Riverview every chance we get and feel there's no better veterinary care in the area.

First, the HOURS are unbeatable. It gives me so much peace of mind to know that I have options if anything happens on the weekend. Still, none of that would matter if the staff wasn’t good, and they’ve been amazing! Dr. Dodgen is so kind and knowledgeable, and she took the time to answer all of my questions thoroughly. We recently boarded our spry 12-year-old pup, Miss GloryBugs, at Riverview Animal Clinic and were reminded why this team is truly one-of-a-kind. While we usually board at Cahaba Beach to align with her quarterly groom, a slip in scheduling before our vacation left us scrambling. Riverview stepped in like a true “K9ight-in-shining farmer” and made sure our girl had everything she needed for the next three days — the only thing we had to forgo was a haircut. From the moment we arrived, the energy was warm, professional, and absolutely reassuring. Miss Janet, Ciara, and Rhea are the embodiment of what pet care should be — gentle-spirited, knowledgeable, and totally in control. They made GloryBugs’ transition smooth and not rushed, and it was clear that she was in the hands of people who genuinely care. What truly touched me was the nostalgic sense of service they radiated — the kind rarely seen today. As a former service industry worker, I’m usually hyper-aware of closing times. But I got swept up in the family vibe they created and, without realizing, kept them ten minutes past close. Not once did they glance at a clock. They weren’t counting down minutes — they were counting on making sure our girl felt safe and loved. These ladies don’t treat this like a job; they treat it like a calling. I hope I get a chance to thank them properly, whether through a tip, a small gift, or simply passing along the heartfelt praise they deserve. Riverview didn’t just board our dog — they reminded us what exceptional care really looks like.

Riverview’s move to greater ease in use of technology to text to check in upon arrival as well as their new app to quickly make an appt, chat with a vet tech is AMAZING. I was able to get in a last minute nail trim for two dogs almost immediately by using these tools! Thank you to the team for guiding me through the process!

Dr. Chris Campbell is fantastic. There is no better vet in this area for reptiles. 2 life saving experiences. And on top of that the staff is fantastic, even in a pandemic, and they charge at the rate of a charity hospital instead of a top notch hospital. I can’t recommend them enough, and I will never take any reptile in the Birmingham area to anyone but them. I can’t state enough how professional, overly caring and truly awesome the whole staff is.

Riverview is by far the most excellent vet care I've experienced for my furry family in the greater B'ham metro area. They have top notch staff, excellent boarding facilities, short wait times, and are always willing to work with you to provide fair, honest, and transparent services and rates. Dr. Campbell is one of the kindest and most supportive veterinarians I've ever used. Their app is great, and they love their animals and treat them like their own. Highly recommend.

Great veterinary care. Dr wood is great, has a sense of humor and has been very helpful In finding out what is wrong with my 14 yr old feline. He performed an ultrasound and I was in the room to watch (a previous vet wouldn't let me and sedated my poor kitty), she wasn't sedated at all, found a gallstone. Now we have a plan and she is doing well. Very pleased with this clinic, I can order meds through them at a decent cost. Thank you all.
