FOUNDER, RETIRED Dr. Serwitz was born in Brooklyn, New York, and grew up in Richmond, Virginia. He received his bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech in 1966 and earned his DVM from the University of Georgia’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 1970. CO-OWNER, RETIRED Dr. Atlas earned his DVM from Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 1988 and has been part of the RAC team for more than 20 years. CO-OWNER Dr. Wood initially entered college at the University of Alabama Birmingham intending to study marine biology, but a friend persuaded him that a pre-veterinary program offered more career options.
